Information We Collect
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so–for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.
We collect this information from three sources: if and when you provide information to us, automatically through operating our Services, and from outside sources. Let’s go over what we collect from each source and why.
Information You Provide to Us
It’s probably no surprise that we collect information that you provide to us directly. Here are some examples:
- Basic account information: We ask for basic information from you in order to set up your account. For example, we require individuals who sign up for an account to provide a username and email address–and that’s it. You may provide us with more information–like your name–but we don’t require that information to create a Amerous account.
- Public profile information: If you have an account with us, we collect the information that you provide for your public profile. For example, if you have an Amerous account, your username and any other information you put into your public profile is available to us.
- Customer service inquires: If you correspond with us–by phone, email, online chat session, or otherwise–we collect information in the content and metadata of your correspondence. This helps resolve the issue you’re contacting us about.
- Payments: If you use your debit or credit card to buy something from us–like a premium upgrade–we collect information to complete the payment, like your name, credit or debit card information, expiration date, CVV code, and postal code.
- Sweepstakes or contests: For many sweepstakes and contests we run on our Services, we collect information like your name, age, contact information to determine whether you are eligible to enter and/or notify you if you win. In some instances, we also need this information to comply with applicable laws.
- Surveys: From time-to-time, we collect information through surveys available on our Services or through third parties who help us conduct these surveys. Your participation in surveys is voluntary, so we only collect this information if you choose to participate. Your individual responses to surveys are anonymous.
Information We Collect Automatically
We also collect some information automatically:
- Log information: Like most online service providers, we collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, including the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information. We collect log information when you use our Services–for example, when you create or make changes to your account by logging into our Services.
- Usage information: We collect information about your usage of our Services. For example, we collect information about the games you play, the purchases you make, the pages you visit, and the dates and times of your activities. We also collect information about the ads that you view and click on.
- Location information: In some cases we collect general information about your location, like your IP address or zip code. We may also collect precise location data (latitude and longitude) from your device if you enable your mobile device to send that data to us.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies like pixel tags and web beacons to collect information about your browsing activities. Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings in your browser. Pixel tags and web beacons are tiny graphic images placed on websites or emails that allow us to measure the actions of users. Cookies, pixel tags, and web beacons allow us to collect information like browser type, time spent on the Services, web pages visited, referring websites, and other activities. We may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as: remembering your information so you don’t have to re-enter it; delivering, measuring, and improving our ads and Services; gaining insights into the use of our Services; and detecting and preventing fraud.
- Device information: We may collect information about the devices you use to access our Services, such as IP addresses, browser type, language settings, operating system, referral URLs, device identifiers, and mobile network operator. We may associate this device information with your Amerous account.
The information we collect automatically is statistical information and does not include personal information. It helps us to improve our Services and deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to estimate audience size and usage patterns; store information about your preferences; speed up your searches; recognize you when you return to our Services; and provide tailored ads, content, features, and recommendations.
Information We Receive from Third Parties
In some cases, we receive information about you from third parties. Here are some examples:
- Third party services: We work with third party services that provide us information about you, similar to the types of information described above that we collect automatically. This includes information like browser cookie IDs, mobile device IDs, demographic data, cryptographic hash values of email addresses, or other data about you or your devices. These services may provide us information about your use of other websites and online services to help us better understand your online activity.
- Partners: We receive information about you and your activities on and off Amerous from third-party partners, such as businesses we have a relationship with or that provide services to us. For example, if you make a purchase from one of our partners, they may share information about the purchase with us.
- Social media services: If you interact with social media features like the Facebook Like button on our Services, those companies may provide us information like your account ID or profile picture. The data we receive depends on your privacy settings with those social media services.
- Other users: We receive public information other users provide about you, like when they tag you in a photo or video. We also let users share information about their contacts so they can connect with friends on our Services.

For example, an advertiser may tell us information about you (like a hashed email address) to help tailor ads on our Services.
We require third parties to have lawful rights to collect, use, and share your information before providing any information to us. We take steps to ensure that others use information about you in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

We may aggregate and/or anonymize information collected through the Services so that the information no longer directly identifies you. We may use aggregated and/or anonymized information for any purpose, including for research and marketing purposes. However, we will never sell your personally identifiable information to third parties without your explicit consent.
